The bench seat was designed and created quite quickly, after a 'What will we make next' question was asked. Inspired by a stack of recycled oregon sitting in the corner, flicking through a furniture book and previously wanting to make a seat for entry ways or mud rooms, we were quite happy with the decision. The truss is a very strong structure, that's why engineers and builders love them, so the light looking frame should have no trouble with some heavier built bodies.
The old oregon timber, came up beautifully after running it through the jointer and thicknesser and rounding of the edges to make sitting a little more comfortable. The pine base has been finished in a Japanese Black stain which allows the grain still to shine through, but allows the oregon top to be the highlight.
